Whoa, I forgot to update this thing.
And it's been longer than I thought...a LOT longer.

See, I'm pretty sure I intended to update it once when I joined [info]artslam to drive myself to draw concept art for Millennium.

It actually went pretty well, for a month. Then an artistic tide of a different sorn came over me, one in which I felt strangely and suddenly obligated to get done some of the requests I took on long ago as well as my more recent short-term projects. (Oh, the things you do when you don't have a job. At least I'm kinda-sorta busy now!)

It didn't help that I also took on [info]artgrind at the same time. It's going 'til November, and while it's slightly easier, I also fell behind in it. (I chose to draw the main character from my other comic for it every day. I actually got tired of it...no waiz!!)

So I haven't drawn anything Millennium-related except the sketches for the next pages in a month, but the comic is all the stronger for what I did now. It'll be that much easier to draw certain places now that they're cemented into my head. (Environment design is a very important aspect of the comic, and I'll be focusing on that when I have time again.)

Anyway, here's some of my favorite stuff from the Slam. )

This isn't related to anything, but one of my projects, a contest, needs votes from willing fans of my work. Go here to see my concept for a Mac laptop skin! Vote and earn another small fraction of my soul as reward.

Maps and Constellations

Today's update comes without a page! Oh no!

I added links and fanart (by Shiruuu), of course, but almost as cool is my completely spur-of-the-moment completion of a territory map and constellations page, which I've been planning to do for a long time (but just not yesterday, when I did them).

This is Seldra's territory map. It comes a long time in planning, since I only just recently got a grip on how to do maps. Since Seldra's design is pretty much finalized, I decided to get this done.

Read into it! )

Enough about that... Now, constellations!

This was fun. Constellations don't really even come up into the story until Arc 5 (that may change now that I've developed them more), but there's a mythology for them, some of which ties in with the Spirits. There're more constellations for me to come up with eventually, for the entire Millennium world.

Moooore... )

My favorite of my invented constellations is Kaolo. Hee, it's another version of Moon Puma.
And yes, Huroro is Pisces. I borrowed some real constellations for this. I had to use Cygnus, because I learned of it through Katamari Damacy and that was just a great experience.

I should also mention here that Millennium now shares a forum with my other comic, LOVEFEAST, here: http://www.senshuu.com/forums/
You should register there and post. Seriously, it's nice. There're other boards for different things, too.

One more thing!
I created a deviantArt stamp for anyone to use.

Millennium: up and running!

Phoenix Can GO!
Ha...!
I restarted the comic and completely forgot to post here!

The first new page went up on January 2nd! Also, the second page was added today.

For various reasons (college, graduation imminent--*cough*SmashBrosBrawlreleaseinamonth*cough*), Mil is going to be taking it kind of slow for the next few months - maybe a page a month, maybe less, because I have to put a looot into my portfolio and animation class. But after that, things should go swimmingly! (A recent Flash job also caused a little lag for this latest page. Priorities! But I had fun working on it!)

Actually, the next two pages shouldn't take as long as these, so we'll see how updating plays out. Still nothing solid, but do expect something!

Good day!

Millennium Progress

Jaguar - Oh?
This post is for Millennium's progress. For the record, you could say.

As of right now, there are 114 pages in the Old Archives (+covers, fillers, "specials" that don't really matter). They span the Prologue and two Arcs, and are split into twelve scenes. (They also change stylistically about 6 times.)

Today (9/15) I filled several holes in the scripts of Arcs 3 and 4 and am working on filling out 5 and 6. Right now, the 98%-100% completed arcs are:

NEW Prologue
Revised Arc 1
Arc 2
Arc 3
Arc 4
Arc 9
Arc 10
Arc 12
Arc 13
Elpilogue

The rest (5, 6, 7, 8) just have parts I haven't elaborated on (except for 11, which actually hasn't been majorly written out yet). In some ways, some parts are superfluous, but I want to do them strongly.
Anyway, there were some events I needed to get past in order to fill out the new prologue.

Restarts

Phoenix Can GO!
Since Millennium will "relaunch" on its next update, I decided to purge this community of its two-year silliness, clean things up a bit, in the spirits of restarts. I left eight past entries, the only eight worth saving, and kept the rest worth keeping for myself. I also gave the place a new look, as I will also update the site's layout. And it was ugly here.

Just in my last post, I said I would never restart this comic, didn't I? Hah. But that was back at the end of 2005, when I was still naive enough to deny that it must be redone. Those of you reading this likely have already read my reasons on the site, but essentially, Millennium was becoming an upside-down pyramid, and I could not continue on with it the way it was and build it into what it needed to be. I've seen comic authors faced with this exact same type of problem and abandon their creation completely; I could not do that to Millennium, however, because as I had said in a two-year-old entry in this journal, I love Millennium. I still love it, very much - and more now than ever.

So, new beginnings. A real start.

Since it is really becoming a "new" and "real" comic, I'll actually be posting things of use here relating to it. Remember, you can, too - feel free to begin a discussion, or join in on things I say. I won't post many update notifications here unless they're important.

When I begin the new prologue, there will be a (VERY brief) history of the world, as well as insight into Ronou and Mune's friends and family at the village Dogwood. There will also be a better description of Ronou and Mune's relationship. I'm very excited for it.
